Tiki of Hawai'i Island

This is from the Hawaiian Island on Hawai'i itself. I thought that if I got a picture of a tiki then I wouldn't have to get one, but now that I'm looking at it I think I still want one. I don't know what I'd do with it but I want one anyways. These are if I remember correctly about 6 feet tall.

Shadow of Manhattan

Lower Manhattan through the trees from Greenwood Cemetery. I went there because I thought that the tombstones would give me a couple nice shots. But I came back pretty disappointed. None of the shots came out how I planned and the lighting was still too strong even at sunset covered by the clouds. The cemetery also closed at 7 so I didn't even get to stay till sunset, man that day was terrible.

Morning Serenity

A very peaceful shot that went into a stitching for a background that I made. Which by the way came out terrible and nothing like I had envisioned it to be when I shot it. I think this shot more than makes up for it though.

Memorial Day Honors

In honor of Memorial Day today I raise a flag at half-staff. This is in honor of all those past, present, and future that will give their lives for the country that they love.

'73 Land Cruiser

My lovely car, that is sitting outside my house collecting leaves and dust. This is my only shot that doesn't actually look like it could be real. A very animation type of shot. I only did this because I saw it done on www.stuckincustoms.com and I liked how he did his bike shots.

Goats of Hawaii

My dad shot this on the golf course. The goats were just roaming and grazing, I saw this shot on my desktop picture viewer from Google's toolbar. It just caught my eye and I thought it was actually from another site's pictures, because some reason the toolbar takes either your cache from your browser and loads those images or it knows what sites you visit. Either way I was really surprised by this shot.

Out of Darkness

I know that I'm not supposed to publish HDR images but I don't consider this on an HDR since it's only B/W but it did go through the same process. Anyways I have two different qualities of this but I'm not sure which I like better, yet.

Liberty Island

On the way to Ellis Island with my cousin Joannie on a day when she had a week or two before she started school again. I was never really impressed with the statue but I guess I don't have any qualms with it anymore now that I've seen it close up.

Between the Hudson and WTC

A nice grassy hill in the middle of the city. Well not exactly in the middle but more on the lower west side right next to the river. This is actually a monument for the Irish Famine. It is right next to the World Financial Center which is right behind the former World Trade Center and the to be building site of the Freedom Towers? I believe thats what they're going to call them. A very enjoyable day although very windy.

Peacock Flying!

Just normal life in NYC peacocks everywhere you go especially in St. John the Divine's Cathedral. I was there for a photoshoot for Kailen and just thought I'd look around and came across this. Sorry it's not in complete focus but it kind of caught me off guard.

Caution Icy Road

The evil icicles that made a large bump in Kailen's head. This thing was massive and very cool looking but just stay off the icy parts and stick to snow.

Narrow Span

My most recent shot from around the city. I am especially proud of this one because I had to get rid of some light streaks from a boat that passed through the shot while the shutter was open. You can still see some of the boat's lights near the water but I wasn't going to go into that much detail. Personally my favorite shot now.

Moving Time Wheel

From a recent outing to the Hudson river, this wheel rotates an average of 6 million times per decade. It was placed here as a sort of time capsule reminding all those that pass by it that we are but a blip in time. While I was there it moved a quarter rotation in half an hour. I was wondering what would happen if someone manually rotated it, but I guess that would be unethical.

Spring Morning in Washington Square

This is from the start of spring from the Kimmel Center in Washington Square. It was the day of service and we had to be at 909 by 9am so I was there early and took some pics there. I really think that Washington Square looks so much nicer with leaves on the trees.

Unknown Flower

So I'm not exactly sure what flower this is, but I thought that it was pretty. Taken in Battery Park City close to the place where the Irish Hunger Monument lies. I really wanted a macro of this but there was nothing on it to focus on that close. I'm so glad that spring is here and summer is coming, well with the exception of humidity.

House or not?

This house was on display over the summer on one of the lawns in Washington D.C. Not exactly sure where it is but I want to have a house where you can see directly through it to the bush on the other side. It's a nice fun play house.

Fort Tryon Novice

This is from my first trip to Fort Tryon. It was incredible being there for the first time, since then it's like the fort has become my second home...third. The landscape around the fort and the walk to the actual museum is spectacular to say the least. I look forward to more visits and better pictures that will freeze a moment in time.

Bus of Clothes

This is what regular life is like around NYC, just random advertisements that catch your eye once in a while. This particular one was in my opinion going a bit over the top.

Sun of the Tropics

As the sun sets in Hawaii I do wish that I was there again. I love the Big Island best place ever. Supposed to go to Hawaii again sometime this summer as long as nothing else get's in the way of having fun with cousins. This was taken with my parents when I told them to pull over so that we could catch the sun setting. We then learned about the setting green sun. It's a specific moment when the sun colapses onto the horizon and a flash of green light comes out of the sun. It is said to be something to do with the air molecules and the Hawaiian air. Didn't see it this time but there will be plenty more chances to catch a shot.

San Francisco Docks

Moving on with places I want to visit again, let's talk about San Francisco. This shot was taken on my last day before my parents and I headed off to my cousin's wedding. This HDR was taken without a tripod because I just didn't want to carry it that morning so the camera is actually on the banister that you see on the left side and directly in front. I didn't notice where the focus was at first but now that I have studied this picture for quite some time, the focus is right in the middle. At first I didn't like that because I wanted everything to be clear but now it's grown on me, and I hope it grows on you too.

Settling in Paris

MMM Paris! I want to travel again. My parents going off to Vietnam is making me jealous especially since I have finals in about 2 weeks. Well all I can really say about this shot is that I want to go back to Paris because it was so much fun. I also want to go to Prague and London while I'm in Europe too.

Reflections of Florence

I really do wish that I could go back to Italy now with my new camera. But I do think this will suffice. Now that my parents are off to Vietnam for 2 weeks from tonight I feel like I should have gone with them...too bad I have finals. Well I guess that I will have to make the best of my time here in NY and the weird weather that we're getting.

Black On Black

Contemplating what Black on Black means. But other than that I'm really sorry that I haven't posted in quite a few days. My computer actually blew it's power supply. Nothing to worry about though I got a free one from Fry's 600 watt's of power! Anyways this is from the MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) from probably two years ago or something but it's probably still there today.

First HDR Sunday!

Well Sunday's will be HDR days. And since today is the first day. I thought that we could start it off right with my first HDR ever. I particularly don't like it that much just because some of the details aren't what I thought it should have come out to be. But everyone else loves it. I'll just let you guys make your own decision.

Coney Island today!

So I just found out that there will be no more of Coney Island in the year to come. It will be gone and replaced by appartments and condos. But today I went and it was fantastic I also went to the acquarium which was also just as much fun. Anyways the rollercoaster which was the best and only reason to go to Coney Island was fantastic but was a heart stopping SIX BUCKS! It was worth it I hope I get to go back and have fun taking some HDR's before it's all gone.
