Snowy Fun

Again with the cold, I really really want the humidity to go away so that I can play in the snow. I have no idea who these people are but they were having lots of fun with the first snowing of the season.

Frozen Theater

I want the cold back! Yesterday and today have been some of the worst days of the summer. Hot and humid, even occasional rain, makes for the worst weather. I actually wouldn't mind about the hot if it weren't humid, because the humidity makes you feel like you're sweating and breathing in other peoples air that just came out of their mouth, it is disgusting. So in turn I just want fall to come as soon as possible.

Divine Crossings

This was recently asked to be printed at poster size from one of my co-workers. So I wanted to share the joy of finally getting someone to get a poster other than myself.

Timeless Island

Ellis Island, pretty much the first place everyone went through in order to get into this country. Back in the day the island had thousands go through it every day and stay there before they got clearance to get into the United States. This is the only building that was restored and that any one could tour. I really wanted to go into the age old cabins and explore the whole island but no, it's apparently too dangerous.

Beautiful Hula Dancer

I really don't know what these flowers are, but they were taken in Hawaii, and yet again I am really looking forward to going to Maui. Maui is the only island that I haven't been to yet in Hawaii so it makes sense that I would be excited but also for the fact that a lot more people my age are coming with.

Palms in the Wind

In anticipation of going to Hawaii within two weeks I decided to post this desktop because it's the only palm trees that I have on my computer. Also I just wanted to give everyone a free desktop, and if any one wants a desktop of any of my HDR they are free to ask, just give me the title of the picture and the screen size and you'll have it within the week/days.

Green on the Inside

For those envious people this may be the picture for you. If you're a little green on the inside but don't like to show it and keep a calm white exterior, this fire work is for you. Yeah, yeah forget about the blue, I don't know what the blue means, just concentrate on the green and white.

Tugging the Sun Along

I'm getting a little tired of these early morning shots now but they will have to do until I get my 50MM f/1.8 lens from B&H. Which will be tomorrow! I'm so excited! Too bad I don't know how I'm going to pay for it. But I'll worry about that later. Alright Enjoy and I'll post again in another 30 minutes.

Inflatable Screens

Waiting for the fireworks from Macy’s from 6PM till 9PM takes a lot out of anyone especially in the rain. This screen wasn’t used until after the fireworks and was barely used because almost every person there went home after the fireworks.

Spikes and Dew

An almost macro shot of the dew but I remembered I don't have a macro lens. So this is the best I could do at the time. I have a few more shots but this looked to be one of the better. It was actually my first shot.

Wings of the Sun

Yet another sunset picture of the Brooklyn Bridge and still nothing to OOO and AHH at. It's really hard to get a unique picture of the Brooklyn Bridge, but I do like a good challenge but maybe some day with a few clouds in the sky.

A Quiet Sunrise

This looks like a good bench to watch the sun rise from. Not exactly facing the right direction but good enough to see everything that goes on around you. This was taken from the top of the first hill that you have to climb to get to the Cloisters in Fort Tryon.

Shadows in the Morning

A pathway in the early morning filled with misty leaves from the night before. When the baby birds chirp for food you know that you've gotten up before sunrise, and now you can relax and enjoy the rest of your day.

Bottom of the Rock

Well a very awkward view now that I look back on this shot but never the less a quite interesting shot. This is in front of the Rockefeller Center and well all the way up the building is the Top of the Rock.

Glorious Reflection

I know that this looks like an HDR but it’s not this is exactly how I took it with the exception of a little contrasting and saturation that I added. Everything else is all the same I didn’t do anything else to the picture. That said this is by the UN building when Hunter, my room mate and I were stuck in traffic for about an hour in a tunnel because they shut down the street ahead of us. Later that day we ran into more traffic on 9th avenue because of some street fair.

Brooklyn Extension

A little more of the Brooklyn Bridge seen from where the bridge grounds itself to Brooklyn. I tried making this shot into an HDR and because of the waving flag it just doesn't work out. The rest of the shots from the Brooklyn Bridge and Fort Tryon are soon to come out.

The Spoils of Rockefeller

Alright so a little history, Fort Tryon was a colonial fort in the 17th century and named after the last General of Colonial New York, William Tryon. So as years go by the property was bought and sold with a notable buyer and developer, Cornelius Billings who spent 2 million dollars in 1905 to build the castle/stele that later burned down. Later the property was sold to John Rockefeller, Jr. who then in turn donated the park to the city and has ever since been the only great view of the Hudson River.

Flying in Formation

Alright so I know I said I would post an HDR and it was assumed that it would be an HDR of the new pictures, but I really haven't felt like processing them just yet so I'll do that a little later on. But in the mean time this is one from the 2nd of July when I went to the Brooklyn Bridge, the cloud that you see was like the only one in the sky that day and I was really disappointed.

Good Morning New York

So I missed yet another day, and I am very sorry for that so today I'll post a regular picture and an HDR to make up for it. I actually got up this morning to go out and take some after the rain pictures at Fort Tryon and this was a shot on my way out. It's hand held so I couldn't get the triple exposure for an HDR but I think this does the morning justice. It was a constant 70 with breeze so the perfect temperature.

On the Road

Driving back to the city from a weekend in Utica for Circle K Convention. I thought the sunset was really nice while we were driving but Justine wouldn't pull over so that I could take some pictures so this is what I opted for.

Across the Park

Back to the Verrazano Narrows Bridge from a different perspective. This is from the park across the ways on the other side of the highway that goes under the bridge that wraps around Brooklyn. I really like all of these shots because the colors are so vivid.

Dandelion

Well I was looking through all of my pictures from the Macy's Fireworks and I think this shot definately does the whole show justice. It was spectacular. The place where I was watching the show was being rented or at least used by Rooftopfilms.com. After the show they showed a couple of shorts on the big projection screen that only a handful of people stayed after for.

Yankee's win again?

Well I don't know if they Yankee's have won lately but this is from the one game that I went to, there are a couple more coming up but I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to go. But at least I got to go to this one.

Enjoying Lower Manhattan

As the sun sets over the Financial District and the Brooklyn Bridge, a man relaxes on the right side of a bench waiting for his other half to be equalized. The shadows cast upon the ground drown out as time passes, yet still, the man remains on his side of the bench forever waiting for his other half, that may never come.

Coloring the Sky

Here we go! The start of the Macy's Fireworks HDR set. I really hope the rest of these turn out just a good as this one did. I did this one first because my cousin Joannie really liked the close ups.
